KURAGE

FOSCARINI

Kurage is a Japanese word that means jellyfish. The designers Nendo and Nichetto designed a quite unconventional lamp
(and there is a shot in the video where you can see their free-hand sketches) for the Italian Lighting company
Foscarini and named it after it. It's an incredibly light weight object. Its head is a handmade paper creation and it able to
make a really poetic and unique light. My idea was to make Kurage looking like a living being, a sort of
fantastic creature coming to our world to visit us and rest quietly on our coffee table.
